Coastal Carolina’s Gibson, Carlton honored by Big South

One Coastal Carolina player was named to the All-Big South team, while another was named to the All-Academic Team.

Ced Gibson was named a second team All-Big South selection and Olivia Carlton landed a spot on the conference's All-Academic Team as the league announced its annual postseason awards on Tuesday.

Gibson, a junior guard, leads Coastal with a 12.1 points per game average and also leads the team with 3.7 assists per game. Gibson is third in the conference in assists per game, seventh in steals per game and ninth in both scoring a field goal percentage.

Carlton, a junior guard from Granger, Ind., is earning her first career All-Academic spot. Carlton holds a 3.98 cumulative GPA as an accounting major, and has twice been named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll. She is additionally a member of the prestigious Coastal Carolina Wall Fellows program.
