About the Chanticleers (4-5) | Coastal Carolina welcomes the Demon Deacons as part of the CresCom Bank Carolinas Challenge. The Chants have lost four straight against Division I competition and are looking to turn things around with two non-conference games remaining. This one carries an added story line as coach Jaida Williams came to Coastal Carolina after spending a year as an assistant at Wake Forest during the 2012-13 season. The Chants already have one win over an ACC foe this season, having beaten Clemson last month. They come into this game averaging 72.4 points per contest, led by senior guard Nicole Isaacs (11.8) and graduate guard/forward Rachael Gregory (11.3).
About the Demon Deacons (6-3) | Wake Forest snapped a two-game losing streak its last time out with a 57-51 win over Jacksonsville. The Demon Deacons are well balanced offensively with four players averaging in double figures offensively, including freshman guard Ariel Stephenson (12.8 points per game), sophomore guard Amber Campbell (12.8), junior forwar Milan Quinn (10.8) and freshman guard Kortni Simmons (10.0). That said, they struggle with their efficiency, shooting just 38.7 percent from the field, 25.5 percent from 3-point range and 58.3 percent from the foul line. Wake Forest leads the all-time series 4-1, though this is the first meeting between the programs since 2001.
