About the Chanticleers | Coastal Carolina opens Big South play Saturday on the heels of its most encouraging performance of the young season. The Chants earned a 67-61 win at College of Charleston on Tuesday and have won three straight overall (including two blowout wins over non-NCAA competition). The Chants, who were picked second in the Big South’s preseason coaches and media poll, have been led offensively by junior guard Elijah Wilson (14.4 points per game) while senior forward Badou Diagne (14.2 points, 7.6 rebounds) is also off to a nice start.

About the Fighting Camels | Campbell scored its first Division I win on Tuesday with a 77-74 victory at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. The Camels had previously lost two close games at Savannah State and against Morgan State. They were picked 10th out of 11 teams in the Big South’s preseason coaches and media poll and are led by 5-foot-9 freshman guard Chris Clemons, who is averaging 18.0 points per game and shooting 56.5 percent from 3-point range and 53.3 percent overall from teh field.
