Coastal Carolina’s Hardeman, Forman and Saayman honored
Hardeman, Forman honored
Coastal Carolina’s Leah Hardeman and Jozsef Forman were named Big South player and coach of the year, respectively, on Tuesday.
Hardeman became the first Chanticleer to repeat as player of the year after earning that honor as well as freshman of the year last season. She leads the Big South in both kills and points per set this year and is in the top 10 in hitting percentage.
Forman earned the coaching honor after being the first coach in program history to lead the Chants to a 14-0 record in conference play.
Coastal’s Eszter Nagy was also named a first-team member and made the all-academic team.
Lian Bernett and Annayka Legros were named to the second team, while Natasa Savovic and Sara Boothe – who made the all-freshman team – were tagged conference honorable mentions.
Saayman earns honor
Coastal Carolina’s Letitia Saayman was named NCAA Division I Cross Country Southeast Region Athlete of the Year, the first Chanticleer to do so.
Saayman won the Southeast Regional on Friday to advance to the NCAA Championship meet.
