Coastal Carolina roundup (Sept. 25)

Bryce Follensbee scored a pair of goals that came 21 second apart in the third minute the match to lead the Coastal Carolina men’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Gardner-Webb in both teams’ Big South Conference opener.

Einar Einarsson, who assisted Follensbee’s first goal, made it 3-0 with a goal in the 49th minute and Darius Strambler netted a goal in the 80th minute to cap the scoring.

Arnar Geirsson, Sergio Camargo and Ryan Willoughby also had assists for Coastal (6-0-1).

Volleyball

Coastal Carolina 3, (at) Winthrop 0: Eszter Nagy had 11 kills and a match-high four blocks as the Chants opened Big South play with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-19) win over the Eagles.

Leah Hardeman and Natasa Savovic added eight kills and nine digs each for Coastal.
