Coastal Carolina roundup (Sept. 20)

The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team shot 18-over 306 to sit in eighth place after the first round of the Reese Jones Invitational at Haig Point.

Campbell and Furman were tied for the lead at 293.

Coastal’s Olle Widegren was tied for 10th (74), Ryan Carpenter was tied for 27th (76), Alfredo Ruiz was tied for 32nd (77), Luis Ruiz was tied for 37th (79) and Thadd Obency II was tied for 40th (80).

Women’s golf

The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team shot 17-over 305 to sit in ninth place after the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational.

Clemson was the leader after shooting 290.

Coastal’s Lena Schaeffner and Malene Kroboll Hansen were tied for 24th (75), Marie Lunackova was tied for 46th (77), Bailey Cocca was tied for 59th (78) and Barbora Bakova was tied for 76th (81).
