Coastal Carolina University set to play in Myrtle Beach Bowl. What team will they face?

The bowl-bound Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will stay home for their postseason match-up.

CCU will play the University of Texas at San Antonio in the 2024 Myrtle Beach Bowl. The Chants will face the Roadrunners on Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina.

CCU finished the regular season 6-6 after starting the year 3-0. It’s unclear who Coastal Carolina’s quarterback will be for the game. Both starter Ethan Vasko and backup Noah Kim entered the transfer portal after Coastal’s final regular season game against Georgia State.

Only Tad Hudson and Alex Walker remain in CCU’s quarterback room, and head coach Tim Beck has yet to announce who will start the bowl game.

For the 2024 season, UTSA has gone 6-6 as well. The Myrtle Beach Bowl will be the team’s fifth straight bowl appearance.

“Coastal Carolina is honored to serve as the host of the Myrtle Beach Bowl,” said Chance Miller, vice president of intercollegiate athletics and university recreation. “We look forward to welcoming two passionate fan bases and showcasing our great community to the nation!”
