Coastal Carolina volleyball voted as preseason favorite in Big South

The Coastal Carolina volleyball team was picked Tuesday as the favorite to win the Big South title this fall.

In addition, the Chants’ Leah Hardeman was named the Preseason Player of the Year.

Coastal, the defending Big South champion, received seven first-place votes and 97 out of a possible 100 points.

Hardeman was the conference freshman and player of the year last season, just the second to earn both honors in the same season.

The Chants’ Eszter Nagy was also named a member of the preseason all-conference team.

Liberty earned one first-place vote and Radford garnered two.
