Coastal Carolina Quarterback Grayson McCall enters the transfer portal. What’s next?

Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall announced he was entering the transfer portal.

The CCU stand out made the announcement via X, formerly known as Twitter.

McCall had said before the season he intended to try and go pro after the 2023 season, telling The Sun News in November that his plans had not changed.

“My plans haven’t really changed,” he said. “If something comes up, and I decide to make the decision to do otherwise when that bridge comes, we’ll cross it.”

This is not the first time McCall has elected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, doing so in 2022 as well although he opted to withdraw his name. McCall’s 2023 campaign did not live up to his previous career at CCU, nearly doubling his career total in interceptions as he tried to work within CCU’s new offense implemented by Head Coach Tim Beck.

McCall also suffered one of the worst injuries of his career in 2023, being knocked unconscious against Arkansas State and exiting the game on a stretcher.
