Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse coach Jaime Sellers resigned from her post Monday, citing a decision to relocate with her fiancé.

“The decision to relocate with my fiancé is one that was incredibly difficult to make,” Sellers said in a statement released by the school. “I am so proud of this program and the efforts of both our staff and student-athletes over the past four years as we laid the foundation that is Coastal Carolina lacrosse.”

Sellers completed her fourth season – third on the playing field – while coaching the program from its inception.

The Chanticleers had a breakout season in 2015, going 11-6 and reaching the semifinals of the Big South tournament for the first time.

Assistant coach Molly O’Brien will take over the program in the interim period while the school searches for a new coach, director of athletics Matt Hogue said.

“I wish nothing but the best for this program, the players and CCU,” Sellers said in the release.
