Noad breaks Coastal Carolina softball single-season home run mark

Coastal Carolina junior Morgan Noad hit a pair of home runs – including a grand slam – in the Chants’ 9-8, eight-inning win over Presbyterian on Saturday to break the program record for single-season homers.

Noad capped a six-run fifth inning with a grand slam and added a solo shot in the seventh as her 20th and 21st home runs of the season, eclipsing a mark set by Meagan Johnson in 2006.

Kiana Quolas singled in Bri Chiusano as the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and in Game 2 Kelsey Dominik struck out four in a three-hit 4-0 shutout. Annie Robinson homered for the Chants in the nightcap.
