College baseball

▪  Coastal Carolina’s game against Presbyterian scheduled for Saturday was postponed because of inclement weather.

The teams are scheduled to make it up as the first game of a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Sunday.

▪ (At) Tennessee 4, South Carolina 3 | Jordan Rogers drove int he game-winning run on a single in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Volunteers past the Gamecocks.

▪ Clemson 11, (at) Georgia Tech 3 | Eli White hit two of three Tigers home runs as Clemson routed the Yellow Jackets.

College signing

Myrtle Beach High School swimming standout Maggie Langdale recently signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her career at South Carolina.

Langdale – a two-time The Sun News Toast of the Coast Girls Swimmer of the Year – qualified for the Palmetto Scholarship and will join the team in the fall.

High school boys soccer

▪ Socastee 5, at South Florence 1 | Cian Gormley scored twice, and Cole Renfrow recorded one save and allowed just one goal as the Braves took down the Bruins on Friday to remain perfect in Region VI-AAAA.

▪ Goals: SOC, Cian Gormley 2; Nick Koonte 1; Jake Perito 1; Jon Ford 1. SF, Jeff Steen 1.

▪ Assists: SOC, Daniel Dicentino 2; Alan Millan 1; Kayque Stoffel 1.

▪ Records: Socastee 14-4-1, 9-0 Region VI-AAAA.

High school baseball

▪ Carolina Forest 4, (at) Conway 1 | The Panthers finished second in Region VI-AAAA after a win over the Tigers on Friday night.

The Panthers will take on Myrtle Beach in a non-region contest at Spring Brooks Stadium (Coastal Carolina) on Monday at 7 p.m.
