Coastal Carolina softball selected eight in first Sun Belt preseason poll

The Coastal Carolina softball team was selected eighth in the Sun Belt Conference’s preseason poll Monday.

In their first season in the conference since leaving the Big South, the Chanticleers were voted eighth out of 10 teams.

Louisiana, the reigning Sun Belt champion was selected first in the poll amassing.

Coastal returns 10 players from last year’s team. The Chants open the season by hosting the Kickin’ Chicken Classic from Feb. 10-12.
