Coastal Carolina notebook: Soccer players honored, lacrosse inks 10

Women’s soccer

Coastal Carolina forwards Daniella Familli and Amber Adams were selected to the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Region Teams on Wednesday.

Famili was selected first team All-South Region while Adams garnered a second team All-South Region honors.

They are the third and fourth players in program history to be named all-region.

The NSCAA’s Southeast Region includes schools from the ACC, SEC, Atlantic Sun, Sun Belt, and Ohio Valley Conference.

Lacrosse

The Coastal Carolina lacrosse team announced the signing of 10 players on Wednesday.

The Chanticleers signed attackers Hailey Heimbach (Gilbertsville, Pa.), Julia Imbo (Bayport, N.Y.) and Carter Williams (Waxhaw, N.C.); midfielders Jordan Harrell (Pasadena, Md.), Allie Daumeyer (Lebanon, Ohio) and Ilyssa Liberto (Sewell, N.J.); defenders Lisa D’Ambrosio (Catonsville, Md.), Nicole Navan (Manorville, N.Y.) and Nina Orsimarsi (Sewell, N.J.); and goalkeeper Kennedy Smith (Kittantinny, N.J.).

“This class of 2017 represents an equal balance of all positions,” coach Kristin Selvage said in a release. “We are thrilled with the skill level and commitment that this class brings to Coastal Carolina Lacrosse. They are the future of our Chanticleers lacrosse program and are already making us very proud with their continual dedication and improvement. In addition, they are just really great people that fit into our culture here at Coastal.”
