Coastal Carolina notebook: A parade and plenty of hoops at the HTC Center

Chants to participate in holiday parade

Players from defending College World Series champion Coastal Carolina have been selected to be the Grand Marshal for the 63rd annual Carolina Carillon holiday parade in Columbia on Dec. 3.

The Chanticleers defeated Arizona in the CWS championship game in June.

Men’s hoops starts homestand

The Coastal Carolina men’s basketball team begins a five-game homestand with a contest against Chattanooga tipping it off at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Chants then host Methodist (8:30 p.m. Wednesday), UNC Asheville (2 p.m. Saturday), Piedmont International (7 p.m. Dec. 5) and North Carolina Central (7 p.m. Dec. 10).

Women’s hoops home as well

The women’s hoops team has two home games this week, against Catawba (6 p.m. Wednesday) and Pfeiffer (7 p.m. Friday).
