Men’s golf

The Coastal Carolina men’s golf team shot 4-under 284 to sit in 12th place after the second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in Jonesborough, Tenn.

The Chanticleers were at 3-over 579, 30 shots behind leader Virginia.

Coastal’s Luis Ruiz (70) and Thadd Obency II (69) were tied for 27th (143), Alfredo Ruiz (73) was tied for 47th (146), Ryan Carpenter (72) was tied for 54th (147) and States Fort (78) was tied for 79th (156).

Cross country

The Coastal Carolina women’s cross country team placed 40th out of 42 teams in the NCAA Pre-Nationals on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.

Aynslee van Graan paced the Chants with a 33rd-place finish (20:48.5). Coastal’s Kyla van Graan placed 77th (21:15.5), Alesia Muklebust placed 275th (23:42.8), Alyssa LeClaire placed 279th (23:56.8) and Kayla Tracy placed 284th (24:21.7).
