Women’s golf

The Coastal Carolina women’s golf team shot 12-over 300 to sit in 10th place after the second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo.

The Chanticleers (24-over 600)were 33 shots behind leader San Diego State.

Coastal’s Malene Krolboll Hansen (71) was tied for second (141), Marie Lunackova (71) was tied for eighth (143), Barbora Bakova (78) was tied for 51st (154), and Yuki Nakayama (80) and Victoria Parker (81) were tied for 81st (163).

Men’s soccer

Coastal Carolina goalkeeper Baulio Linares-Ortiz was named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Linares, Ortiz had six saves as the the Chants defeated No. 20 Radford. He had two other saves in a loss to UNC Greensboro.
