Roy Williams makes Beach Ball Classic to watch North Carolina commitment in action
University of North Carolina coach Roy Williams arrived at the Beach Ball Classic on Tuesday night in time to watch UNC commitment Tony Bradley, a 6-10 senior from Bartow (Fla.), play against Shadow Mountain (Ariz.) in a quarterfinal game.
Williams has two commitments in this year’s tournament, as Mullins junior guard Jalek Felton verbally committed to the Tar Heels during last year’s tournament. Williams is a fairly regular visitor to the Beach Ball.
“It’s one of the best tournaments in the entire country,” Williams said. “It’s during the holiday period when you’ve got some fluctuation with your practice time and you get to see some great talent. I always come.”
UNC is 11-2 this season and ranked in the top 10 in the nation in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and Associated Press Top 25, and hosts Clemson on Wednesday.
