South Carolina has landed a weapon for offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

On Friday night, the Gamecocks earned a commitment from Purdue transfer wide receiver Nitro Tuggle. 247 Sports was the first to report it.

Tuggle was the Boilermakers’ No. 2 receiver last season, reeling in 34 catches for 500 yards and four touchdowns.

While the Gamecocks lost starters Vandrevius Jacobs and Brian Rowe Jr. to the transfer portal, Tuggle will join a wide receiver group that includes, notably: Nyck Harbor, Jayden Sellers and Donovan Murph.

A former four-star prospect from Indiana, Tuggle signed with Georgia out of high school and began his college career with the Bulldogs in 2024.

He redshirted as a true freshman, appearing in just three games.

In March, per an ESPN report, Tuggle was arrested after driving his Dodge Charger 107 mph on a Georgia highway. He was going 42 mph over the speed limit and charged with a misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart suspended Tuggle indefinitely from the program. A month later, he transferred to Purdue.
