South Carolina releases depth chart for season opener against Georgia State
The South Carolina football team released its depth chart for Saturday’s home opener against Georgia State.
As expected, transfer Spencer Rattler is the Gamecocks’ starter at quarterback. Luke Doty is listed as Rattler’s backup, but the depth chart doesn’t detail where the other four QBs (Tanner Bailey, Braden Davis, Jalen Daniels and Colten Gauthier) rank in the coaches’ minds to start the season.
USC chose not to publicly declare starters yet at the wide receiver spot, which is considered one of the team’s deepest positions.
Junior Mo Kaba is listed as the middle linebacker starter over super senior Sherrod Greene. Elsewhere, several freshmen, including Irmo’s Nick Emmanwori, Spring Valley’s DQ Smith and St. Joseph (Pa.) Prep’s Keenan Nelson and Kajuan Banks, found their way into the secondary’s two-deep.
