South Carolina and Texas’ weekend baseball series has been adjusted due to incoming weather.

Game 1 originally scheduled for Friday was postponed because of a forecast for rainy weather, USC announced.

The Gamecocks and Longhorns will now play Game 1 on Saturday at 1 p.m. (moved up from 4 p.m.) and a doubleheader on Sunday that begins at 1:30 p.m.

South Carolina heads into the weekend having lost four consecutive games, including a Tuesday contest to a 3-9 Xavier team. USC was also swept by arch-rival Clemson last weekend in a three-game set split between Columbia and Clemson.

Texas, too, has had its recent issues. UT lost a Wednesday night contest to Texas State in Austin after narrowly escaping the Bobcats in San Marcos the day before.

The Longhorns also announced on Thursday morning that Sunday starter Tanner Whitt will miss the rest of the season due to a torn UCL that required Tommy John Surgery.

South Carolina was swept by Texas in Austin last spring, losing all three games by a combined score of 15-6.
