It didn’t take long for the Deshaun Watson era to begin.

Turns out, it took exactly half a game, in fact.

The rookie quarterback out of Clemson replaced struggling Houston Texans starter Tom Savage at the beginning of the second half of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Texans were trailing 19-0 at the half, but Watson connected with another Tigers alumnus, DeAndre Hopkins, on a 4-yard touchdown pass to get Houston on the board.

Watson was 5-for-8 for 37 yards in his first series.

Savage was 7-for-13 for 62 yards and was sacked six times in the first half.
