Newest Gamecocks commit gets a shout out from Snoop Dogg
Usually college football commitments don’t get celebrity shout outs.
But new South Carolina football commitment Keisean Nixon got a big one, but it’s one that went a little deeper.
Rapper Snoop Dogg tweeted out congratulations for Nixon when he committed to South Carolina on Wednesday. But what appeared to be a celebrity shout out on twitter was more a family congrats.

Snoop Dogg is Nixon’s uncle. Nixon is from Compton, Ca., and said his uncle has come to watch him play several times.
The SYFL is the Snoop Youth Football League, a youth football and cheer organization according to its website. Nixon played for a team in Compton when he was a child before playing for Salesian High School in Los Angeles and spending one year at Arizona Western College playing JUCO ball.
