N.C. State canceled its Primetime with the Pack basketball event scheduled for Thursday due to the anticipation of inclement weather, the school announced on Wednesday.

The annual men’s and women’s basketball showcase tried something different by planning to hold the event outdoors on the PNC Arena Plaza across from Carter-Finley Stadium. But the forecast of rain washed out their plans.

The athletic department planned the event to coincide with the start of the North Carolina State Fair. As a cross-promotion, N.C. State students were to get a discounted rate for the fair by showing their ID at the gate.

The first chance for N.C. State fans to see the men’s team will now be its exhibition game against Lees-McRae on Nov. 2 in PNC Arena. And the women’s team will debut on Nov. 3 against Pembroke State in Reynolds Coliseum.
