Clemson leading scorer Aamir Simms makes NBA Draft decision

Clemson’s top player is returning for one more year.

Forward Aamir Simms, who led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding in 2019-20, is returning for his senior season he announced on Monday. Simms averaged 13 points and 7.2 rebounds last year as he was named third-team All-ACC. Simms originally declared for the draft in March before deciding to withdraw his name.

“I’m really looking forward to my senior year with my teammates and making a run at the tournament!” Simms posted on Twitter. “Last year will be my best yet! Can’t wait to rock Littlejohn one last time! Everyone be safe and love one another.”

The return of Simms is huge for a Clemson team that finished 16-15 in 2019-20.

Clemson will have back four of its five starters and is only losing Tevin Mack and Curran Scott as far as players that played at least 10 minutes per game last season.
