Clemson’s Tee Higgins returns to Fiesta Bowl after apparent injury
Clemson leading receiver Tee Higgins is back in the game after being injured against Ohio State in the first quarter of the Fiesta Bowl.
Higgins was escorted to the locker room by a trainer with a towel over his head in the first quarter but started the second half. Higgins took a hard hit on a deep pass early in the first quarter and had his helmet knocked off.
He immediately went to the sideline and was checked out by trainers, before heading to the injury tent. He left the injury tent after a few minutes and joined the offense on the bench but without his helmet. He then was taken to the locker room.
There was no official word given on the exact injury that happened.
Higgins had one catch for 21 yards before leaving the game. He entered Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl as the leading receiver on the team with 52 catches for 1,082 yards and 13 touchdowns. ESPN ranked him the No. 18 player in all of college football.
