San Francisco activates South Carolina alum Mike Davis
Mike Davis’ first professional season after leaving South Carolina hasn’t been particularly smooth.
But he’s now in line for another chance.
The San Francisco 49ers announced Saturday afternoon they’d activated Davis from the off injured reserve/designated for return list for the season finale against St. Louis.

— San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) January 2, 2016This season, Davis, a fourth-round draft pick, has run for 24 yards on 25 carries and picked up 23 yards receiving. He played five games before being sidelined by a hand injury that required surgery.
Davis ran for more than 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final two seasons in Columbia.
