Week 0 of the high school football season has now come and gone.

Were you able to keep up with our changes both in print and online?

There were some fantastic finishes from the week, including St. James’ upset of perennial Class AA powerhouse Loris, and Green Sea Floyds’ first win in almost two years.

If you haven’t been following along with some of our updates, those games did not go in print Saturday, but were covered in great depth online. There were also expansive photo galleries accompanying St. James-Loris and Conway’s win over Georgetown.

If you picked up Sunday’s print edition, you likely saw the culmination of the week’s coverage with our “Sunday Morning Quarterback” package, featuring scores from around the state, area box scores, game summaries, standings, key players from the week, and a photo page.

With young players, you’ve got to get them thinking right. I think this is a big win for us. We need some confidence.

The new layout is meant to get you caught up on all the week’s action in a one-stop format that is enjoyable to read. Do you think we accomplished that?

This package will be altered and improved in the coming weeks as we gain a better understanding of what readers are looking for. What do you think? Do you have suggestions as to how we should improve? Let us know. All ideas will be considered, and we’ll work to accommodate everyone as much as we can.
