In What Way Will Losing Kenneth Walker III Impact the Seahawks?
The Seattle Seahawks are obviously coming off one of the greatest seasons in franchise history, following a win over the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
But, as soon as the confetti settled, the team had to part ways with Super Bowl MVP-winning running back Kenneth Walker III. He was just too expensive to keep, and he went to the Kansas City Chiefs.
So, what will losing Walker mean to the Seattle Seahawks and their offense next season?
It’s a blow, but it doesn’t mean they’ve totally crushed their offense. There are still strong pieces of their offense steadily in place, such as quarterback Sam Darnold.
In a Wednesday, May 6 feature for Fox Sports, Ben Arthur ranks the strongest offenses in the NFL right now.
“There’s still a long way to go before we see real football again,” he explains in the piece. “But with the NFL Draft in the books and the majority of the top-tier free agents signed, teams know what the core of their squads will look like in 2026.”
Arthur puts the Seahawks’ offense at No. 4, although he does note that losing Walker is a blow.
“The Seahawks have their entire offense returning from last year’s Super Bowl-winning team, with one (big) exception: running back Kenneth Walker III, who signed with the Chiefs in free agency,” he states in the piece.

He adds: “How quickly first-round pick Jadarian Price, who backed up Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, acclimates to the NFL level will be key to Seattle's offense. Not only is Price replacing Walker, but also his running mate, Zach Charbonnet, who suffered a torn ACL in the divisional round in January.”
My Take: Kenneth Walker III and the Seahawks’ Offense
Losing Walker is not a small thing. It’s huge, and he was a major part of why the Seahawks were able to get to the Super Bowl and ultimately win the game. But, it’s not insurmountable.

The Seahawks got Walker straight from Michigan State University, and they’re doing the same thing with Price. That was possibly the pick of the draft, and having Price in place of Walker could make the difference to get this team back to the big game.
