Chilling New Details Emerge Months After Death Of NASCAR's Greg Biffle

Back in December, the NASCAR community lost a legend in Greg Biffle. He and three family members sadly passed away in a plane crash at Statesville (N.C.) Regional Airport.

Biffle, who was named one of NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers, was a beloved figure due to his success on the track and his humanitarian work off it. He showed just how selfless he was by helping Jamaica and other Caribbean areas leveled by Hurricane Melissa in 2025.

"Greg was more than a champion driver, he was a beloved member of the NASCAR community, a fierce competitor, and a friend to so many. His passion for racing, his integrity, and his commitment to fans and fellow competitors alike made a lasting impact on the sport," NASCAR said. "On the track, Greg's talent and tenacity earned him championships in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, as well as numerous wins and accolades in the NASCAR Cup Series. Beyond his racing career, he gave of himself for the betterment of our community. Most notably, Greg spent countless hours of his time helping the citizens of North Carolina during the disasters that followed Hurricane Helene. His tireless work saved lives."

Weeks after Biffle died in a plane crash, someone broke into his home in Mooresville. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office initially reported that more than $30,000 and two firearms were stolen from the former NASCAR driver's home.

There's more to this burglary.

According to WBTV, "hundreds of thousands of dollars" were allegedly taken from Biffle's home.

What's even more puzzling is the fact that Biffle's bank account information was tampered with before the break-in even occurred.

"According to affidavits in the search warrants, detectives believe the suspect seen on video during the burglary appeared to know the home's layout and camera locations, suggesting prior familiarity with the property. The search warrants reviewed by WBTV also allege that bank accounts for the deceased family were also compromised, even before the break-in," the report from WBTV states.

"After Greg Biffle and his wife Cristina Grossu died, detectives allege suspicious activity began on their email and banking accounts. It included changes to account emails, phone numbers, passwords, and fraudulent activity involving Grossu's Venmo account. The affidavit alleges that bank account information was changed by phone, and that at least one fraudulent check was cashed from an account tied to Biffle's business interests."

The latest details have fans wondering if the break-in at Biffle's house was an inside job. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office is asking for those with information on this matter to call at 704-878-3180.
