Coastal Carolina University’s Saltwater Angler Club is hosting its 11th annual saltwater fishing seminar Saturday on campus.

Tickets are $15 for the general public and $5 for students. The seminar will be held at Brittain Hall on the CCU campus with doors open at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m.

Local captains will provide their expertise on a variety of saltwater fishing topics.

The seminar is the major fund-raiser for the club, helping to fund fishing trips and provide fishing tackle. Club members also fish in local king mackerel tournaments on the SKA and Kingfish Cup circuits as Team Hooligan aboard CCU Professor and Capt. Joe Winslow’s Yellowfin.

Raffle items include coolers and a variety of fishing tackle. Saltwater Ammo Company, American Aquatic and Perry’s Bait and Tackle are vendors that will be on hand for the event.

The seminar schedule follows:

  • 10-11 a.m.: Surf Fishing 201, Reading the Beach and Fishing through the Seasons with club members Dean Wrobel and Will Santhelli
  • 11 a.m. to noon: Inshore Fishing for red drum, trout and flounder by Capt. Patrick Kelly of Captain Smiley Fishing Charters in Little River
  • Noon to 1 p.m.: King Mackerel Fishing with Capt. Jeff Maples of Reel Salty Charters in Murrells Inlet.
