Leonard Freeman wins June Battle at the Beach
Local bowling star Leonard Freeman rolled a 278 game in the championship match to defeat top-seeded Josh McCoy at Myrtle Beach Bowl Sunday and win the June edition of the popular Battle at the Beach series. Second seeded Freeman defeated third seeded Jimmy Nichols who in turn beat fifth seed Brett Caramagno. Caramagno started the step ladder finals by defeating fourth seed Andrew Diley.
Other bowlers cashing in the somewhat reduced field include, in order, Brett Johnson, Patrick Phillips, Gary Simmons, Steve Shaffer and Tyler Null. The next Battle will be held in August on a date yet to be determined.
