Grand Strand viewer’s guide for the sports week ahead (Oct. 31-Nov. 6, 2016)

▪ The Coastal Carolina football team returns home for the first of four straight at Brooks Stadium as it hosts Monmouth at 2 p.m. Saturday.

▪ CCU’s men’s golf team continues play in the CSU Wendys Classic in Charleston through Tuesday.

▪ The Chanticleers’ women’s soccer team makes its first venture into the Sun Belt Conference tournament as the No. 2 seed, taking on seventh-seeded Arkansas State at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday in Foley, Ala. Should it advance to the finals, Coastal would play in the championship at 2 p.m. Sunday.

▪ CCU’s men’s soccer team plays its regular-season finale against Georgia State at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Sun Belt tournament begins Nov. 10 in Atlanta.

▪ Coastal’s volleyball team has three Sun Belt contests this week, playing at Georgia Southern on Wednesday (6:30 p.m.) and hosting the same squad at 6 p.m. Friday before a home match against Georgia State at 1 p.m. Sunday.

▪ The Clemson football team looks to remain undefeated as it hosts Syracuse on Saturday; a time has yet to be posted.

▪ The South Carolina football team will host Missouri at 4 p.m. Saturday (SEC Network).

▪ After earning a key win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Carolina Panthers are set to head west to take on the Rams in Los Angeles at 4:05 p.m. Sunday (Fox).

▪ On the local gridiron, high school football teams will take to the field for their second-to-last regular-season games on the season.

▪ High school volleyball and girls tennis playoffs continue this week.

▪ Several area runners will head to Columbia on Saturday for the South Carolina High School League State Championships.

▪ With the Chase field down to eight, drivers will look to join Jimmie Johnson in the final four as the second Round of 8 race, the AAA Texas 500, is run at Texas Motor Speedway at 2 p.m. Sunday (NBC).

▪ The PGA Tour heads to Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open beginning Thursday.
