Dowey wins Battle at the Beach bowling tournament

Jeffrey Dowey won the 6th Battle at the Beach on Aug. 28 at Myrtle Beach Bowl, defeating previous winner Steve Mills in the final match.

Dowey outlasted another top field of 48 outstanding bowlers that included several youth bowlers, three of whom won their way into the second round. The field of 48 matched the previous high. Tony Tully rolled the only perfect game of the day while winning his second round match.

In addition to Dowey and Mills, the other top finishers were Tony Tully, Sal Marsicano, Jr., Josh Rondino, Aaron Schneider, John May, Michael Ward, Tyler Elrod, Ken Shealy, Michelle Dowey and Steve Zacharias. High pot games during the qualifying block were bowled by Mike Albert, Jerffrey Dowey, John May and Steve Zacharias. The next Battle at the Beach is planned for Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
