I stopped by the Walmart in Myrtle Beach on Seaboard Street this morning to pick up a quick item. After walking through the door, I ran into a giddy, animated crowd in line, and a few kids dancing off to the side to loud music.
What was going on? An indoor roller coaster? Announcement of a new ferris wheel? No.
People were giddy over a big new Coke machine from which they could receive two small cans of free Coke, complete with the name of a loved one written in the familiar Coke language on the can.
I will admit that it was a bit exciting and cool - don’t ask me why - but I didn’t have the time to stay in line to get my cans.
Fortunately, the machine will be around a bit longer - though only until 3:30 p.m. today, Friday June 5.
If you want a couple of free cans with the name of your sweetie on it - like that commercial - you better get there before then.
