Letters to the Editor

Muslims are welcome in the U.S. Deal with it.

Re “Islam and the United States don’t mix well; don’t let in Muslim immigrants” letter by Rick Gutierrez.

As I read the letters to the editor on a daily basis, I am appalled at the idiocy of many of my fellow South Carolinians. However, the letter from Rick Gutierrez is beyond belief.

After espousing the ban and banishment of Muslims from the U.S., he then goes on to state that “you are not allowed to profess your religion.”

Clearly, he needs a copy of the U.S. Constitution, where it clearly states that in fact, you are allowed to profess whatever religion you choose. There is no requirement for to explain yourself to Mr. Gutierrez, Donald Trump or anyone else.

Read the Constitution before you make any more outrageous claims. Your letter is as un-American as it gets.
