Trump is the kind of change we don’t need

Donald, don't listen to your frustrated political consultants trying to mold you into something you're not. Please, maintain that highly revealing way you are, the gift that keeps on giving. Your tweets, slips of the tongue, or “unforced errors” in sports vernacular, are keeping the focus squarely on your character, integrity and moral fiber.

You have become the John McEnroe of political ranting, crying foul when anything doesn't go your way. Remarkably you are now claiming injustice before the ballots are even cast.

Your reaction time to any form of personal criticism is faster than Kerri Walsh Jennings cross court spikes!

To fathom that your trigger finger might be on the nuclear button is frightening. To think that one of your unthoughtful, knee jerk reactions as leader of the free world could have catastrophic consequences is scary. Keep being you!

And no, I am not another mainstream Republican trying to maintain the status quo. Like many others, I am abandoning the Republican Party and joining the independent ranks of folks like Michael Bloomberg. I can no longer support the party whose many leaders blindly and uncritically support a candidate who is so clearly unqualified on so many levels. I get it; people want change.

But at what cost?

Thomas Hall, Murrells Inlet
