Myrtle Beach City Council’s greed is showing

I have lived in Myrtle Beach for many years and object to having to pay for our public beaches, which we have enjoyed. Parking has been wonderful, with short walks to the water in the side lots.

I have never seen any damage to any ones homes there. Beach lovers come and go all day without any commotion. We never leave behind garbage on the beach. We clean up after ourselves. I do not think it is fair because we do not live in the city limits to have to now pay to park to enjoy these public beaches. We, as have many others, have loved our days in the sun at the beaches.

We own homes here; we are not renters. We pay taxes on our homes and vehicles. We pay high state taxes on our shopping, etc.

This is a terrible thing that the city has done to our enjoyment of this great place. If this is to be, then we should have lifeguards now, and public bathrooms also. That should be a privilege we should have for paying for a beach that is, to my mind, no longer public.

I am sure all would agree to this now that we must pay to come to our beaches. So now let’s get that request ASAP -t hen we will be paying for something that before was free to all of us.

If anyone agrees, let them hear our voices. Let’s change this greediness and make Myrtle Beach a place of enjoyment, as it had been for many, many moons. Why is the city making money from us when we eat there? Shop there? And now when we park to get to the boardwalk?

Isn’t that enough? Greed is not good.
