It’s always a beautiful day in South Carolina

South Carolina is a wonderful place; it is a vacationer's paradise. The Palmetto State is known around the nation and world for its “Smiling faces and beautiful places.” It is a beautiful state during the summertime to go on vacation.

People are drawn to South Carolina for vacation because of its temperate climate and beautiful beaches. And people who vacationed here have come back through the years, and some even moved here. From the mountains and the Greenville- Spartanburg- Anderson metropolitan area of the Upstate, the state capital region of Columbia and the Midlands, and the beaches of the Lowcountry and the Grand strand and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is just right for people who have visited the state and come back.

My family and I planning another trip to Myrtle Beach during the end of summer, a popular summer resort. We always stay at the Court Capri hotel and have always walked the beach near the hotel. We have always gone to the Myrtle Beach Flea Market to buy little gift reminders of our vacation. We have gone many times to Broadway at the Beach to take in a movie. I even got to listen to music during the early 90s while I was a teenager at the Attic nightclub, and got to play arcade games nearby at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion.

In Charleston, my family stayed many times at the Howard Johnson and the North Charleston Residence Inn. We have gone to the Downtown Flea market to buy gifts of our vacation. We have gone to Isle of Palms and the city of Folly Beach to walk those beaches. And we always eat seafood at Hyman's Restaurant. I have always enjoyed touring and seeing the historic houses near The Battery and the local folklore and historic colonial history of the area.

My family has also gone to Columbia for vacation. We always go shopping at the Columbiana Centre shopping mall and eat at the Red Lobster in Cayce. We also go to see the zoo animals at Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical garden. I'm always in awe of the South Carolina Capitol building and the University of South Carolina campus during my visits to Columbia.

South Carolina has a reputation as a great place to live, work and raise a family, and as the home of BMW, Michelin North America and Boeing. And we have attracted more people and business to the state after they first came here to visit.

May we Sandlappers always encourage people to come enjoy South Carolina's temperate climate, beautiful beaches in the Lowcountry and Grand Strand, and the mountains and state parks of the Upstate. South Carolina is just right.
