Savannah’s playground built with good intentions, still unnecessary
A recent article in The Sun News about Savannah's Playground at The Market Common was very positive and glowing. But not everyone is thrilled with the establishment of this playground.
While the intent was admirable, the existing playground there could have been enlarged to provide special equipment for special children. Then abled- and disabled-children could play together, enjoying each other's company.
In the meantime, many trees have been removed, there is inadequate shade, nature has been compromised and greenery has been destroyed. I say remove the unattractive equipment, replant the trees and create a nature park for all children.
