Our troubles are of our own making
After the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the Boston marathon bombing, and after the massacre in Orlando, everyone asked why the Federal Bureau of Investigation was unable to “connect the dots” and stop these atrocities.
Now it's our time, as an amazing free society, to do some of our own dot connecting. The dots are not buried in a haystack.
We have growing inequality, guns everywhere, vitriolic politics, black men and police locked in a macho-macho battle, exhausted war veterans treated poorly, rampant anti-intellectualism, and the near death of credible journalism.
With all these dots, why couldn’t we see the Dallas police assassinations coming?
