Letters to the Editor

Political bias is in the eye of the beholder

On July 29, the letters to the editor section had three very opinionated letters:

“Cartoon way too depressing and political.”

“Those who kill cops must be put to death."

“Unfair Trump treatment must stop.”

All those letters have a tendency to lean to the conservative side. When is this paper going to show some liberal letters and stop catering to these people? (Sorry just kidding!)

All three letters were complaining about how this newspaper is biased, which is totally not true. I think it shows good reporting by showing both sides of the spectrum. I find that The Sun News is unbiased, and I read the Opinion Page on a daily basis, wether it be left or right.

This is how you get an education my friends. If you want just the conservative side or just the liberal side, you're only fooling yourself by not getting everybody's opinion. They are only opinions, and some are sprinkled with facts.

Just remember everyone is entitled to an opinion and our own anecdotal evidence. Biased research and untrue “facts” often appear in this section. Recently, several letters have accused The Sun News of being too liberal, ignoring the fact that we get weekly doses from Walter Williams, Charles Krauthammer and Cal Thomas. All right-wing writers. It is now suggested that the paper is not treating Trump fairly, despite almost daily stories for the past four years covering the Republican investigations against Hillary, which have found nothing.

And maybe someday Trump will do something that deserves favorable coverage.
