Grand Strand is a gem of a medical facility

Now that I have survived two life-threatening ordeals, I feel compelled to commend the staff at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for their excellent care and concern. When I suffered a heart attack four years ago, I felt fortunate to find myself at GSRMC. After several weeks there, I was able to return home and resume a normal life style.

My latest visit (June 9) involved an emergency surgical procedure that saved my life. As I recover at home, I am thankful to Dr. Borowicz, his group and surgical residents, Dr. Watson and his group, and Dr. Goebel. In addition to their legion of highly qualified staff, the nursing staffs of ICU-1 South, ICU-2 South, CVICU, PCU and SSU, should not only be proud of the care they deliver to patients, but also the genuine concern they show for families.

I have lived near some of the major northern hospitals of great reputation, but I would stack GSRMC up against any of them. The people of Horry County should be proud to have a medical facility of such high quality in this area.
