CCU, Gilmore have a new fan
We have a house in Murrells Inlet but live full time in Connecticut. The College World Series is one of my favorite sporting events, and to have Coastal Carolina University in it this year peaked my interest more than usual. I have no affiliation with the school, don't know anyone on the team, but I've driven through the campus a few times, and it is beautiful. After watching them win and listening to the post-game interviews with such well-spoken young men, I was truly impressed.
Kudos to the parents. Up until this tournament, I wouldn't know Gary Gilmore from Adam, but to say I was impressed with him is an understatement. He is the epitome of a gentleman. I can see why the kids play their hearts out for him, and to pass up big money at Auburn to stay at CCU speak volumes for his character.
I can't say enough nice things about him and his program. Congratulations and good luck to all of you in the future.
