Streetreach in Brunswick will press on
Greetings, friends of Streetreach. We are quickly approaching the fifth year of sheltering the homeless in Brunswick County.
As many know, we are a 100 percent volunteer organization that depends solely off the generosity of the community and faith-based organizations.
We have absolutely no paid staff and do not receive grants,or United Way funding. With no permanent shelter and no public transportation system in place, it has been a whirlwind of adjustments and challenges getting churches to participate in the interfaith sheltering program, for various reasons.
However, we have pressed onward and have had so many great stories of changed lives, baptisms and numerous employment and housing successes. Praises to God.
We appreciate the help of all our volunteers and of those that support us in various ways. We have provided thousands of nights of sheltering over the past years for the homeless, via of church facilities, campers, motels, etc. Many have even stayed on our own property.
This has been a great savings to many organizations; we have stopped a lot of duplication of services and wasted manpower.
The calls and requests for help increase daily; however, we are currently extended and sorry to say we can't meet all the needs at this time.
We do want to extend a big thank you to all that have sowed into this program. Without you, we could not help the most vulnerable among us.
We will continue to meet needs, as resources are provided. We so desire your prayers for guidance during these trying times.
