You cannot read the minds of white people and conservatives

Re Leonard Pitts Jr. column on Muhammad Ali

Let's think about it. Does anyone really know the thoughts and feelings of other people? Of course not, yet many journalists make that claim. Pitts claim to know.

He expresses he knows what all white people and conservatives of all races think and feel. Also, many editorials you have printed from the Washington Post, New York Times and, yes, a few local letter writers claim they know what all conservatives - Republicans and religious people - think and feel.

I have always been under the assumption that only our higher power of choice could have that ability.

Our country is in a dire troubling situation: oppressive debt, serious race relations, no secure border. People living among us that believe they need to kill us, according to their beliefs, and the constitution that has worked so well for us being ignored often by those in power.

I hope and pray my God will help and protect this once great country and bring it back to its senses.
