Myrtle Beach and Georgetown police officers saved us
Friday afternoon I realized we had a flat tire. Friday evening we borrowed a flat tire repair kit from a friend. Saturday morning we inflated the flat tire, jumped into the van and hurried up U.S. 17 Business, hoping to make it to Wal-Mart on Tanger road. We made it to the Dune South subdivision when the tire deflated and died. We had left our cell phone at home.
We were stranded. There were several things we could do, walk the mile and a half home or knock on the door of the nearest neighbor and ask to use the phone. I thought about sticking out my thumb but changed my mind when a horde of bikers raced by.
We needed a near-miracle, and it arrived almost immediately when two police officers, Richard Mikalatos and Hank Carrison, drove up and offered assistance.
We want to let the public know that these two gentlemen officers are a credit to Myrtle Beach Police and Georgetown police departments. They gave us the names of several towing service companies and allowed us to use their phone to contact a towing service.
Thank you officer Mikaltos, and officer Carrison. God bless.
The writers live in Myrtle Beach.
