Writer believes that the parking plan is not thought out

Councilwoman Mary Jeffcoat stated it is unsafe now for hundreds of vehicles riding around residential neighborhoods looking for parking spaces.

How is adding parking meters going to make this problem disappear? And what is the thinking that charging twice the fee to park at the street ends will force people to park in the city lots? I'm a city resident and I believe these fees will force people to park elsewhere. Probably Florida.
