Writer believes that Leigh Boan should serve in probate court

As a practicing attorney for the last 30 years, I have had occasion to deal with the entire spectrum of lawyers and judges throughout South Carolina. For the last decade it has been my pleasure and honor to work with Leigh Powers Boan at the McNair Law Firm in Pawleys Island.

There is no doubt that Leigh has the intellect to serve as the probate judge for Georgetown County but, more importantly, she has the character and compassion for the job. Leigh appreciates that most of the people coming into the probate court are there because of a death or incapacity in the family and need assistance at this critical time in their lives.

I suspect there are several lawyers in Georgetown County that have the technical knowledge to serve as the probate judge but I know there are none with greater compassion, kindness and understanding for the job than Leigh.
