Writer believes students should consider nursing as a career

Many families are struggling with the high cost of education today. Another big problem we have is student debt. The average student who goes to college today leaves school owing a lot of money. In fact, the college graduating class of 2015 left school owing an average of $35,000 each in school loans.

In South Carolina we are very fortunate to have a fine technical college system and a stand-out school for nursing located right here in our backyard: Horry Georgetown Technical College. Here students may achieve a nursing degree for less than half of what many students end up owing after spending tens of thousands of dollars on school and the average nurse in our country makes about $64,00 a year.

America will be need about another 400,000 nurses in the coming years, according to government projections. As we celebrate the end of Nurse's Week come join our ranks. Consider a nursing career and get a great return on your educational investment while spending your days helping people.
